FORMAT & POINTS
Format
Each of the nine 2015 - 2016 Burger King Pro Dirt Series rounds consists of three 12-lap Heats, Pole Shuffle, 10-lap B Main and 20-lap Feature.

For all rounds the field is split into three 8-car groups. Two groups contest each of the three 16-car 10-lap Heats. Each group contests two Heats and gets to race against each of the other two groups.


HEAT ONE: Group 1 v Group 2

HEAT TWO: Group 2 v Group 3

HEAT THREE: Group 1 v Group 3


POLE SHUFFLE: The top eight points scorers from the Heats shuffle for the Feature race's top eight grid positions.
  • Cars seventh and eighth on points race in the 2-lap Run-off One .  Car 7th on points has lane choice.  Winner progresses.  Loser starts the Feature from grid 8.
  • Car sixth on points challenges Run-off One winner race in the 2-lap Run-off Two .  Challenger has lane choice.  Winner progresses.  Loser starts the Feature from grid 7.
  • Car fifth on points challenges Run-off Two winner race in the 2-lap Run-off Three .  Challenger has lane choice.  Winner progresses.  Loser starts the Feature from grid 6.
  • Car fourth on points challenges Run-off Three winner race in the 2-lap Run-off Four .  Challenger has lane choice.  Winner progresses.  Loser starts the Feature from grid 5.
  • Car third on points challenges Run-off Four winner race in the 2-lap Run-off Five .  Challenger has lane choice.  Winner progresses.  Loser starts the Feature from grid 4.
  • Car second on points challenges Run-off Five winner race in the 2-lap Run-off Six .  Challenger has lane choice.  Winner progresses.  Loser starts the Feature from grid 3.
  • Car first on points challenges Run-off Six winner race in the 2-lap Run-off Seven .  Challenger has lane choice.  The winner has the choice of starting the Feature from pole or grid 2.  Defeated driver starts the Feature from remaining grid position.

B MAIN: Ninth place down on heat points start B Main, with highest on points starting from pole down to lowest on points from the rear.  Finishers P1 to P12 transfer to the Feature, starting from grids 9 to 20 respectively.


FEATURE: Pole Shuffle finishing order determines Feature grids 1 to 8, with the Pole Shuffle winner electing whether they start from grid 1 or 2 for the 20-lap Feature.  B Main finishing order determines Feature grids 9 to 20.

how points are awarded
As well as points for finishing positions, drivers are awarded 2 points for each car they pass in the heats and feature race i.e. a driver starting from grid 5 and finishing the race in 1st place is awarded 98 points in total, 90 points for the win and 8 points for passing four cars.

  • DNF cars are awarded points as they drop out i.e. in a sixteen car field the first car to drop out gets 24 points for 16th place, the next car to drop out gets 27 points for 15th place etc
  • DNS cars failing to cross the start line in their starting grid positions at the start of a race are deemed non starters and don't receive points
